Office of Faculty Development

We support faculty at all stages in their careers in developing effective pedagogical techniques that create an inclusive learning environment for our diverse student body.

We assist faculty in creating and sustaining a community of colleagues who learn from and support each other.

We facilitate and celebrate faculty achievement in scholarly and artistic production.

Curriculum Development Stipends  2019-2020

The Office of Faculty Development is pleased to announce that the following colleagues have been awarded Curriculum Development Stipends towards the improvement and enhancement of our curriculum.

Gizella Meneses in Modern Languages and Literatures will offer a revised version of her SPAN 260: Spanish for Heritage Speakers.  The new version of the course will carry a Speaking-Intensive tag in the Forester Fundamental Curriculum.

Rebecca Graff, Sociology and Anthropology, has developed a new course entitled Mapping Chicago.  This course will teach students to approach maps critically, thinking about what they include and leave out and how they function as carriers of memory.  Students will learn StoryMaps software, and the course will carry a Technology-Intensive tag.

These courses will be scheduled  in Academic Year 2020-2021.
